Caps worked with d/b constructors to design and build their new Office and
Distribution Center in Carrollton’s Valwood Park. This facility is of concrete
panel construction with steel frame and joist structural system, and was
designed to meet high-piled combustible storage requirements.
The site is located in a Planned
Development zone and was also subject to the Park’s strict development
standards. This required approval through the city’s Planning and Zoning
Commission and City Council before submittal for building permit. Initially
approved for 30,000 square feet with future expansion to 50,000, site and
foundation work
had
just begun when the Owner decided to accelerate his ultimate expansion. The d/b
constructors team worked closely with the City to bring the requested expansion
to the next Planning and Zoning Commission hearing and gained approval in a
timely manner so that construction was not interrupted.
This attractive facility was
completed on time and on budget – under $39.00 per square foot.
