Starke
Machine Company, a Fort Worth company, owned by Dennis Starke, manufactures
special high-tolerance machined parts for the aircraft industry. As a result of
increased manufacturing demands, they had a need for additional building space
and retained d/b constructors to design and build a 5,600 square foot building
addition. Also some of the existing building had to be renovated to meet ADA
physical handicap codes.
The project consisted of the construction of 70’ X 80’ X 18’
pre-engineered building with a standing seam metal roof system adjoining the
existing tilt concrete building. The interior was divided into a material
control office, air–conditioned finished parts storage, and warehouse. Also two
of the existing machine shop restrooms had to be demolished and replaced with
two new restrooms as well as the construction of an exterior concrete walk ramp
to meet the ADA requirements.
The d/b constructors team worked closely with the owner to do
the project cost effectively as well as to not interfere with the operation of
his business.
