expansions at their North America Headquarters in the Mark IV Industrial Park in
the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The largest of
these projects is a 54,000 square foot manufacturing building with 30 foot high
tilt-up concrete walls with washed rainbow rock finish. The project included a
4,300 square foot lunch facility and a dock level shipping and receiving area.
Removal of 20,000 square foot of natural rock was required in order to maintain
the same elevation as other existing structures.
The second
project is a 23,000 square foot multi-level facility housing Behr’s North
American Executive, Marketing, and Research Headquarters, the first half of
which was constructed in 1990. This facility includes a 36,850 cubic foot wind
tunnel for testing automotive and truck air conditioners, and replicates
temperature and humidity conditions from –20 F degrees to +125 F degrees.
